Discuss how you would differentiate instruction for the inclusion of various learning styles.
I will use different methods to teach the material to meet all students needs. For example, I will include visuals, audio, and verbal cues so students can learn in different ways. My goal is to also promote creativity in my classroom by giving students options. I will include various learning centers for lessons so students can pick how they want to learn and present their learning. The students will also use their problem-solving skills to prepare them for future lessons. I will include students learning styles and interest in the lesson plans.
Reflect on ways in which you would modify instruction for special education students.
I will make sure I include technology for students with special needs. Including interactive programs will motivate the student to learn material while getting the practice they need. I will also modify the program for the student so they can learn/ practice at their own level. I will use tablets and/or computers in the classroom to meet students needs for the most lesson and adjust accordingly. Using the same technology, I will do research on the student's disability and needs. I will make sure the objectives are clear, promote critical thinking through hands-on play and communicate with the student.
Reflect on ways in which you will choose culturally relevant curriculum and instructional materials that recognize, incorporate, and reflect students’ heritage and the contributions of various ethnic groups.
I will develop lesson plans that get students to learn to about their peers and community. For example, we will learn about the different types of food the students eat by drawing pictures. Then students can come up to the room and describe their pictures to the class; students also will have the option to verbalize what types of food they eat. "Be open and responsive to new and diverse perspectives; incorporate group input and feedback into the work" (Framework for 21st-century learning) I will then pair students up and let them develop a compare and contrast chart to see the similarities and differences in food taste in different cultures. This will promote creativity, innovation, flexibility, and communication.
